Campagne Kleehof
The Kleehof is a campaign in the municipality of Kirchberg in the canton of Bern .
history
In 1763 the Bernese agronomist Johann Rudolf Tschiffeli , co-founder of the Economic Society in Bern, acquired the "Kleegarten" estate. In 1765 and 1768 he had Niklaus Sprüngli's manor house expanded with two symmetrically arranged single-storey wing pavilions. Tschiffeli sold the property as early as 1770 for 72,000 am pounds to Ludwig Philibert Sinner , who had the existing main building replaced by his cousin Carl Ahasver von Sinner . In 1811 the manor house passed to Philippe Heinrich Dubois from Le Locle , and in 1830 to Heinrich Roth from Ersigen . In 1840, he built a brewery in the eastern pavilion. In 1959 Alphonse Schoch bought the Kleehof and renovated the eastern pavilion from 1965 according to the original plans. At the same time, the buildings were placed under cantonal monument protection.
