Campus radio Jena

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The campus radio Jena (CRJ) is a student radio operated by students from the Friedrich Schiller University Jena and the Ernst Abbe University of Jena .

history

The first program on campus radio was broadcast on December 3, 2002. While in the beginning the focus was mainly on trying things out - as part of the Jena Open Channel (OKJ), over the years a clear broadcast concept with fixed topics and variable priorities has developed.

Airtime & Profile

The campus radio broadcasts on the frequency of the Jena Open Channel on FM 103.4 and cable 107.9  MHz , as well as via its own Internet stream . Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m., as well as a repeat or late night from 10 p.m. to midnight. As a user of the open channel, the Jena campus radio can reach up to 120,000 listeners in Jena and East Thuringia.

The CRJ focuses on topics related to studies and Jena, combined with entertainment and music. In addition to the daily items such as weather and event tips, current articles on the topics of student life, education , politics and culture are always covered.

structure

As a radio from students for students, the campus radio Jena is financed from the semester fees for the student body by the student councils (StuRa) of the EAH Jena and the FSU Jena. The editor-in-chief , who holds the post for one year, oversees the program and the financial resources . Since this position is recognized as committee work, the term of office as editor-in-chief can be taken into account as a reason for extending the study period when calculating long-term tuition fees or specified for semesters on leave . The editor-in-chief is the only employee of the Jena campus radio who does this job as an employee of the StuRa. All other employees volunteer students at EAH and FSU.

The campus radio has almost 10,000 euros a year (excluding technology / festival).

The editorial team is divided into two areas: on the one hand, the editors who research current topics and produce articles, and the music department, who is responsible for the background music.

To promote its campus radio, the StuRa of the FSU Jena is a member of the OKJ.

This and that

The CRJ's mascot is a black owl and symbolizes both the idealized doers and listeners of the CRJ with their two primary characteristics - knowing and being up late at night .

The CRJ was founded by students from the Jena University of Applied Sciences (today Ernst Abbe University Jena), which is why the broadcast studio is still on the EAH campus today . The CRJ is the only program of the OKJ that has its own broadcast studio .

Campusradio Jena has been organizing its own small festival with various cultural events, such as readings and concerts, since 2010. It is called the "Owl Friends Festival" and takes place at the beginning of the year.

The moderators appear regularly as DJs in the "Rosenkeller Student Club" for the "Tea Dance" event. With “Boavista Deportivo Campusradio”, Campusradio Jena has its own football club in the Uni Liga Jena.
