The Canal River is a tributary of the Melville Hall River in central Dominica in the Parish Saint Andrew .

geography

The Canal River has its source on a northeastern branch of Mang Peak at about 660  m above sea level and flows northeast. Opposite the Douglas-Charles Airport (Melville Hall Airfield) it flows from the right and south into the Melville Hall River. The river is about 7 km long. The Canal River receives several tributaries from the southwest and left from Mang Peak and in the further course from the southeast and right from the northeast flank of the Morne Concorde ( Crown , Gould , Gregg ). To the east is the catchment area of ​​the smaller Crebiche River (Mantipo River).
