action

At the beginning you see amateurish camera shots of a group of young women who want to camp in a forest area and are preparing for it. A short time later they are attacked by strangers and the camera recordings are broken off.

In the meantime, a young woman named Kati is driving her car to meet these friends to celebrate the birthday of her little sister Celine. She gets lost and asks a wandering vagabond for directions. But her car is stolen and the drunk tramp disappears. She is alone. So she sets out on her own to find the right path and arrives at a factory that the vagabond has already warned about. Since she thinks she can hear her cell phone, which she left in the car, she enters the factory and starts looking.

At the same time, her little sister Celine and her best friend Tanja are also on their way to the campsite. There they find no one except tents left behind. They believe that something has happened and go to the forest to find their friends. There they are attacked and killed by a stranger.

In the meantime, Kati has made the acquaintance of the people living there, who are obviously cannibals, and is on the run. She is ultimately overwhelmed in an elevator shaft. She wakes up in a makeshift kitchen, where she meets one of her friends who is killed on a sideboard. Due to the carelessness of a cannibal, the kitchen is set on fire, which Kati uses to try to escape. When she runs out of the kitchen, she is overwhelmed by a cannibal who tries to rape her. She kills him with a metal pipe. She steals his flashlight and continues to flee through the factory. In a corridor she is attacked by another cannibal, which she can kill with targeted blows to the head. The flashlight breaks. Kati then gropes blindly through the darkness and ends up in a shower room, where she is filmed by a cannibal with the camera that he had captured from her friends. To lure the cannibal closer, she begins to strip. When he has approached accordingly, she knocks him down and steals his camera. She uses this to better escape through the dark basement corridors with night vision. On her escape, she comes to a room with a cellar window. As she runs towards it, she discovers a zombie-like being in the dark. When the camera starts beeping about low battery power, it attacks you. The camera will eventually turn itself off.

Reviews

  • The Cinema 's verdict: "The fact that indie director Frank W. Montag (, Slasher ') in his handsomely filmed sophomore to atmospheric sets, is laudable. Unfortunately, this (even in the gripping night vision device finale) is repeatedly interrupted by black screens. And in the long run, even frightened graces wandering around become boring. Conclusion: technically solid, but too monotonous shocker made in Germany. "
  • Gamona.de reports: "The wheel is certainly not invented with this film, but genre fans who would also like to experience local hillbilly killers are served quite well here."
  • Leinenreporter.com sums up: “Especially in the taciturn second part, where the makers were able to ignore the weaknesses in the dialogue, the film scores with the audience. A nice final gag ensures that a large number of horror fans will draw a positive overall conclusion after a crisp 75 minutes. "
  • Spielfilm.de said: "The Backwood - Slasher , Cannibal Diner offers a successful, atmospheric imagery only familiar genre patterns, predictable plot and talentless performers. The film is therefore only suitable for die-hard fans of the genre. "
  • The Horrorquest Film Festival notes, “Cannibal Diner is a really enjoyable horror flick. While it is not overly original, it fits nicely alongside such films as, "The Hills Have Eyes" or "Wrong Turn". The films knows what it is and delivers on what many horror hounds want, Blood and Boobs! - Winner: Best foreign feature. "
