The Canoe Meadows Wildlife Sanctuary is a 253  acres (1  km² ) large reserve in Pittsfield in the state of Massachusetts of the United States . It is administered by the Massachusetts Audubon Society .

Protected area

Located on the Housatonic River approximately 1  mi (1.6  km ) outside of Pittsfield, the sanctuary is an important plant and animal sanctuary. 3 mi (4.8 km) of hiking trails are available for visitors, 0.3 mi (0.5 km) of which are barrier-free . There is also a community garden for the residents of the area. Interested visitors can join the bird watching and fill out a checklist to support the work of the Audubon Society.
