The Capanna Borgna ( German : Borgnahütte) is a self-catering hut in the municipality of Vogorno in the Val della Porta in the Ticino Alps . It is one of the five shelters that make up Via Alta della Verzasca (VAV) and belongs to the Società Escursionistica Verzaschese (SEV).
description
The hut is located at 1912 m above sea level. M. in a side valley of the Verzasca valley . It consists of two buildings that were restored in two stages from 1993 to 2003 by volunteers from the SEV.
The two-story main building made of stone has a kitchen and lounge and dining room with 24 seats. The kitchen is equipped with a wood and gas stove and cookware. Toilets and running water are inside the building. The huts are heated with wood and illuminated with solar cells. The 27 beds are divided between the two buildings.
The hut is the stage of the tenth stage of the Via Alta Idra high-altitude trail , which leads in 12 stages from the source of the Ticino river to its confluence with Lake Maggiore .

- From Vogorno ( 495 m above sea level ) in 4 hours (T2).
- From Mornera ( 1347 m above sea level ) in 4 ½ hours (T3). Mornera can be reached by cable car from Monte Carasso .
