The Società Escursionistica Verzaschese (SEV) is a Ticino Alpine Association . Since 2001 he has been part of the Ticino umbrella organization Federazione Alpinistica Ticinese .
history
The SEV was founded in 1983 and today (2019) has around 800 members. He is committed to the reconstruction of the abandoned Alps and the maintenance of the hiking trails in the Valle Verzasca and thus makes a contribution to the revitalization of the valley and against the deforestation . The SEV annually organizes a varied tour program for its members. The program includes summer and winter activities of varying degrees of difficulty for alpinists, hikers, climbers, young people, older members and families.
Thanks to mostly voluntary work, the mountain huts Borgna (built in 1994), Efra (1990), Cornavosa (2010), Barone (1992, expanded in 1999) and Cognora (1986) were converted from five old alpine huts . After the bases were completed, the Via Alta della Verzasca alpine trail was marked and laid down. The white-blue-white marked alpine path is only for experienced mountaineers. The simple self-catering huts maintained by the SEV are all on Via Alta della Verzasca .
The SEV has been running the bouldering hall in Riazzino since 2002 .
