The Capanna d'Efra ( German : Efrahütte) is a self-catering hut in the municipality of Frasco in the Val d'Efra in the Ticino Alps . It is one of the five shelters that make up Via Alta della Verzasca (VAV) and belongs to the Società Escursionistica Verzaschese (SEV).
description
The hut is located at 2039 m above sea level. M. in a side valley of the Verzasca valley . It was inaugurated in 1990. Two original alpine buildings of the Corte di Cima in the highest pasture areas of the Alp d'Efra have been converted into mountain huts.
The hut is divided into two buildings. In the first there is a kitchen with lounge and dining room. The kitchen is equipped with a wood and gas stove and cookware. Toilets and running water are inside the building. The huts are heated with wood and illuminated with solar cells. The second building has a room with 24 beds.
The Efrahütte is on the stages R87 / R88 of the Via Alpina , which lead from Biasca ( 292 m above sea level ) over the Passo di Gagnone ( 2204 m above sea level ) to Sonogno ( 916 m above sea level ).
The hut is the stage of the eighth stage of the Via Alta Idra high-altitude trail , which leads in 12 stages from the source of the Ticino river to its mouth in Lake Maggiore .
Approach
- From Frasco-Chiesa the hut can be reached in 3 ½ hours walking time (level of difficulty T2).
- From Personico ( 885 m above sea level ), Valle Leventina , via the Val d'Ambra (via the Lago Rierna reservoir) in 7 hours (T2).
- From the reservoir Lago di Rierna ( 885 m above sea level ) in 6 hours (T2). Accessible by car.
Frasco and Personico can be reached by public transport.
Ascent
- Pizzo di Gagnone ( 2518 m above sea level ) in 1 ½ hours (T3).
