flora

The Cappenberg Forest is now a beech and maple forest. In smaller parts of the forest there are also conifers. The oaks in the Cappenberg Forest were systematically cut down in the middle of the 19th century, as the Cappenberg Forest was supposed to become a pure beech forest. From 1911 it was agreed that precious woods should also be planted in the Cappenberg Forest. Today 4% of the forest is still made of fine wood, from 1912 to 1930 it was 44%. Among them were ash , sycamore, and cherry .
