The Capps Glacier is a 38 km long valley glacier in the Tordrillo Mountains in Alaska ( USA ). The glacier was named in 1958 after Stephen Reid Capps (1881-1949), a geologist with the US Geological Survey (USGS) .
The 2200 m high nutrient area of the Capps Glacier is located on the eastern flank of Mount Torbert . The glacier flows in a predominantly east-southeast direction and ends at a height of around 180 m 5.5 km southwest of Beluga Lake . The Capps Glacier has a maximum width of 5.2 km in the lowest section. The glacier feeds the Chichantna River , which flows into Beluga Lake. This in turn is drained via the Beluga River to the Cook Inlet .
