Capricorn is a district within Limpopo Province in South Africa . It has 1,261,463 inhabitants (as of October 2011) on a total area of 21,705 km². The district administration is based in Polokwane .
The district is named after the Tropic of Capricorn ( Latin : tropicus capricorni , English : Tropic of Capricorn ), which runs through the district and symbolically shares its coat of arms.
