The Cardissa is an LNG tanker that has been in service in Northern Europe for the energy company Shell since October 2017 .

It supplies ships in the North and Baltic Seas and the Swedish import terminal in Nynäshamn with LNG from Rotterdam Maasvlakte. The shipping company Aida Cruises signed a contract with Shell in 2016 to supply its ships AIDAprima , AIDAperla and AIDAnova with LNG propulsion.

The Cardissa was built by the STX shipyard in South Korea for the Shell Western LNG shipping company. Around 6500 cubic meters of LNG can be transported at minus 162 degrees. The Aidanova, the only LNG cruise ship to date, was delivered by Meyer Werft at the end of 2018 and can store around 3500 cubic meters of LNG.

The tanker Cardissa also refueled the AIDAnova for the first time in Eemshaven in October 2018. Ship-to-ship refueling is currently prohibited in German ports.
