Carequinha
Carequinha , actually George Savalla Gomes (born July 18, 1915 in Rio Bonito , † April 5, 2006 in São Gonçalo ) was a Brazilian clown and actor .
Gomes grew up in a circus family. His parents were Elisa Savalla Gomes and Lazarus Gomes . He began his career in his family's circus when he was only five years old . Up to the age of twelve he was a clown in the circus Ocidental. In 1938 he worked as a singer in the Picolino show for the Mayrink radio station in Rio de Janeiro . Gomes was the first Brazilian clown to have his own television show on Brazilian television. His show Circo Bombril , later Circus des Carequinha , ran for a total of 16 years.
