Carin Gerhardsen (born December 6, 1962 in Katrineholm ) is a Swedish writer .

Life

Gerhardsen spent her childhood in her native Katrineholm and studied mathematics at Uppsala University after completing school . She then worked as a computer scientist in London for some time . In order to be able to devote herself to writing, she gave up her previous activity. In 1992 she made her debut with her first novel På flykt från tiden (German Escape from Time ), which received positive reviews but was not well received by the public. She became internationally successful from 2008 with a series of crime novels, the so-called Hammarby series , which focuses on the Hammarby police team. They became regular bestsellers in Sweden .

Gerhardsen lives in Stockholm with her husband and has two children.
