Caritate Christi compulsi

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The encyclical Caritate Christi compulsi by Pope Pius XI. was signed on May 3, 1932. The Pope writes “on the prayers and atonements owed to the Sacred Heart of Jesus in the present human crisis”.

With this encyclical Pius XI turned to among other things against communism and the so-called wicked movement, but not against nationalism . For this he writes:

“The right order of Christian mercy forbids neither rightful love for the fatherland nor nationalism; on the contrary, it controls, sanctifies and animates him. "

In the encyclical the Pope repeatedly warned against the anti-religious movements and demanded: "With God against those without God." With his encyclical Miserentissimus Redemptor (1928) he gave a short summary of the Sacred Heart theology. With Caritate Christi compulsi he calls the "Sacred Heart Adoration the extraordinary remedy in the extraordinary needs of the time".
