The Carl-Cranz-Gesellschaft eV is a non-profit organization for technical-scientific further education . It was founded on December 9, 1960 under the patronage of the Defense Minister at the time, Franz Josef Strauss, with the aim of providing military training and further education opportunities for university graduates as well as specialists from industry and the military in the course of building up the Bundeswehr and corresponding research and development capacities. Since technologies are used in a wide variety of areas, the range of advanced training courses offered by the CCG has developed in a wide variety of technical areas and industries. Its board of trustees include not only representatives of research institutions such as the German Aerospace Center (DLR) and the Fraunhofer Institutes mainly representatives of leading German companies such as Airbus Defense and Space , Diehl Defense , ESG , Hensoldt , IABG , Krauss-Maffei Wegmann and Rheinmetall to who are also associated with society as cooperative members.

The company is named after the creator of modern ballistics , the professor of technical physics at the Technical University of Berlin , Carl Cranz .

Every year more than 120 one to five day seminars are held in German or English, which are led by experts from universities, research institutions and industrial companies. The CCG works with research institutes, primarily large-scale research institutions, with universities, industry and government organizations.
