Carl-Edzard Schelten-Peterssen

Carl-Edzard Schelten-Peterssen (born October 13, 1921 in Hanover , † May 4, 1995 in Berum ) was a German politician ( CDU ). From 1963 to 1982, with one interruption, he was a member of the Lower Saxony state parliament.

Life

Schelten-Peterssen first attended grammar school in Norden , later in Hamburg and studied forestry after graduating from high school. He worked for a company for two years and after the end of the Second World War took over his father's agricultural and forestry business in Berum. He worked in the building materials and agricultural machinery trade.

He had been a member of the NSDAP since October 1, 1941 ( membership number 9.001.242).

Schelten-Peterssen joined the CDU after the war and was its chairman in the Northern District Association. Later he was still a member of the central board of the CDU in Hanover. For 25 years he was active in local politics. Until October 1977 he was a member of the district council and deputy district administrator. He was active as chairman and board member in several water and soil associations. He was a member of the board of directors of the East Frisian employers' association and the board of the working group for agricultural issues in Hanover.

From May 20, 1963 to June 20, 1974 he was in the fifth to seventh electoral term in the Lower Saxony state parliament. In the eighth electoral term he moved up on March 27, 1976 and then belonged to the state parliament in the ninth electoral term until June 20, 1982. From 1976 to 1978 he was chairman of the committee for economics and transport.
