Carl-Olof Nylén , actually Carl-Olof Siggeson Nylén , called "Olle" (born June 30, 1892 in Uppsala , † October 2, 1978 in Stocksund ), was a Swedish ENT doctor and tennis player .
Live and act
Nylén already had his first successes in tennis while studying medicine. At the Olympic Games in Stockholm in 1912 , he represented his country in men's doubles together with Carl Wennergren (1889–1978). He played in mixed doubles with Edith Arnheim (1884–1964).
In 1915, 1916, 1917 and 1925 Nylén won the Swedish Tennis Championships.
From 1935 to 1958 he worked as an otologist at Uppsala University . He was the first doctor to use a monocular microscope ( monocular vision ) during an operation and is therefore also considered the "father" of microsurgery .
