Carl Böhm (church musician)

Carl Böhm (born April 23, 1877 in Altdorf , † April 15, 1928 in Nuremberg ) was a German church musician .

Life

Carl Böhm became a teacher in Nuremberg in 1906. Seven years later, in 1913, he became both organist and choir director at the St. Leonhard Church there . In 1922 he became a lecturer at the Preachers' Seminar in Nuremberg and the following year organist at the St. Sebald Church . Three years earlier, Böhm had founded the magazine Kirchenmusikalische Blätter ; In 1923 it was merged with the magazine Siona and from then on appeared under the title Zeitschrift für Evangelische Kirchenmusik . Another ten years later, in 1933, the magazine was combined with music and church ; Böhm, however, died on April 15, 1928 in Nuremberg.
