Carl Brewer

Carl Ehregott Bräuer , modernized Karl Bräuer , (born October 16, 1796 in Annaberg , † October 12, 1863 in Dresden ) was a German teacher, composer and author.

Life

After attending school and attending the teachers' college, Carl Bräuer, who came from the Saxon Ore Mountains , became a school substitute in Zöschen in the Prussian province of Saxony in 1817 . Plagued by homesickness, he returned to the Ore Mountains in 1819, where he got a job as cantor in the town of Eibenstock , which, however, did not make him permanently happy. In 1822 he moved to Werdau as cantor , where he worked for over three decades. In 1851 he was promoted to deputy school director there.
