Carl Brockmann (born December 9, 1887 in Berlin ; † May 7, 1958 there ) was a German athlete who specialized in walking . He started first for SC Westend 05 Berlin and later for SC Charlottenburg .

Brockmann won two German championships in 100 km street walking, a discipline that was only on the program from 1906 to 1912:

From 1920 competitions in 50 km walking were held. Here Brockmann reappeared in the medal ranks:

There are also four German championships with the SC Charlottenburg team in 1927, 1928, 1930 and 1931.

In 1912 he covered the 100 km distance in 10 hours and 12 minutes. This time was noted as a world record, although, as Brockmann himself confirmed, it was not a running time but a walking time. A real running record over 100 km was the 8:37:34 h set by Max Wiedemann in 1949 .
