Carl Bruch
Carl Wilhelm Ludwig Bruch (born May 1, 1819 in Mainz , † January 4, 1884 in Heppenheim (Bergstrasse) ) was a German anatomist .
Life
Bruch studied in Giessen , where he was a member of the Corps Markomannia and Rhenania, and in Berlin . In 1842 he received his doctorate as Dr. med. In 1845 he became a private lecturer with Jakob Henle in Heidelberg . In 1850 he became a full professor of anatomy and physiology in Basel . In 1855 he moved to Giessen. In 1860 he had to retire.
With his work The diagnosis of malignant tumors , he is one of the early successors of Johannes Peter Müller in the field of microscopic tumor diagnosis . In 1844 he described the Bruch's membrane named after him on the choroid .
