Carl Christian Bettendorf

Carl Christian Bettendorf (born July 26, 1973 in Hamburg ) is a German composer .

Life

Carl Christian Bettendorf studied composition with Hans-Jürgen von Bose , Peter Maxwell Davies and Wolfgang Rihm . He is currently doing his PhD at the Music Department of Columbia University in New York with Tristan Murail . His works were u. a. Performed at the A • DEvantgarde -Festival Munich, at the Center Acanthes in Metz, at the Ijsbreker Amsterdam and at New York's Carnegie Hall . In 2007 he had a portrait concert as part of the Klangspuren at the Munich Biennale . He currently works and lives in New York City, New York, USA.

Increasingly he appears as a conductor u. a. with the Munich Ensemble for New Music piano possibile , the Columbia University Orchestra and various ensembles in New York (Wet Ink, Columbia Composers).

He has received a number of awards and grants. a. the Leonhard and Ida Wolf Memorial Prize for Music, a grant from the Forberg Schneider Foundation and the Paris grant from the Free State of Bavaria.
