Carl Diehl

Carl Diehl (born January 30, 1801 in Frankfurt / Main ; † 1862 ) was a German lawyer and politician of the Free City of Frankfurt .

Diehl was a doctor of law , in 1848 deputy director of the city court and from 1851 to 1861 lay judge in Frankfurt. From 1833 to 1837 he was a member of the Legislative Assembly. From 1837 to 1851 he was senator for the city of Frankfurt am Main , which was then a sovereign state ; the Senate was the highest constitutional body of the executive , its rank corresponded to that of a minister in area states.

His grandson was the economist Karl Diehl .
