Carl Frederik Tietgen
Carl Frederik Tietgen (born March 19, 1829 in Odense , † October 19, 1901 in Copenhagen ) was a Danish banker and industrialist who, as a privy councilor, was close to the Danish king as an advisor.
By founding a private bank, he was able to participate in the founding of many companies. These companies include both conglomerates and companies specializing in transportation and logistics, food production and telecommunications, which still exist today.
Tietgen was one of the key figures in the industrial revolution in Denmark.
He financed the completion of Frederik's Church in Copenhagen, in which a marble plaque commemorates him and his wife.
