Carl Geissler

Carl Gaudenz Ludwig Geißler (* 1817 in Ahlen ; † March 20, 1896 in Burgsteinfurt ) was a German lawyer and parliamentarian.

Life

After attending grammar school in Recklinghausen , Carl Geißler studied from 1836, among others, at the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn . In 1837 he became a member of the Corps Saxonia Bonn . After completing his studies, he settled in Dorsten as a lawyer . In 1861 he became a district judge and in 1879 a district judge in Burgsteinfurt.

Geissler was a deputy to the Frankfurt National Assembly . In 1852 he was elected to the Prussian House of Representatives in the constituency of Münster 4 . There he was one of the founders of the Catholic faction in 1852. On October 24, 1853, he resigned from his mandate.
