Carl Heinrich Ebermaier

Carl Heinrich Ebermaier , also Karl Heinrich Ebermaier (born February 4, 1802 in Rheda , † January 1, 1870 in Düsseldorf , Rhine Province ), was a Prussian, German doctor and botanist. Its official botanical author's abbreviation is “ CHEberm. "

Ebermaier studied in Bonn and Berlin, where he obtained his doctorate (dissertation: Plantarum Papilionacearum monographia medica, 1824), and was medical advisor in Düsseldorf.

He was the son of the doctor and botanist Johann Erdwin Christoph Ebermaier (1768-1825) (Councilor in Rheda).

In 1829 he became a member of the Leopoldina .

A synonym of the genus Staurogyne of the acanthus family is named after him ( Ebermaiera NEES 1832).
