Carl Heinrich Huebler

Carl Heinrich Hübler (born December 4, 1822 in Wachwitz , † April 14, 1893 in Dresden ) was a German horn player and composer .

Life

After his training with horn player August Haase in 1844, Hübler was employed as horn player at the Dresden court orchestra and in 1851 was appointed royal chamber musician. He remained in this position until his retirement in 1891. In 1886 he received the title of chamber virtuoso . He was a co-founder of the Dresden Tonkünstlerverein and was a board member for 25 years.

In 1849 he was involved in the first private performance of the concert piece for 4 horns and orchestra op.86 by Robert Schumann , which took place in the presence of the composer together with horn players Lewy, Lorenz and Schlitterlau in the apartment of horn player Josef Rudolf Lewy in Dresden.

Hübler died in Dresden in 1893 and was buried in the old Annenfriedhof there.
