Carl Johnson (athlete)
Carl Johnson ( Carl Edward Johnson ; born May 21, 1898 in Genesee , Michigan , † September 13, 1932 in Detroit ) was an American long jumper .
In 1918 and 1919 he achieved world best performances of the year with 7.295 m and 7.34 m.
At the Olympic Games in Antwerp in 1920 he won the silver medal with 7.095 m after the Swede William Petersson (7.15 m) and before his compatriot Erik Abrahamsson (7.08 m).
Carl Johnson graduated from the University of Michigan .
