Carl Josef Maria Brentano-Cimaroli
Carl Josef Maria Brentano-Cimaroli (* 1705 ; † January 15, 1780 in Genoa ) was an entrepreneur from the extensive Brentano family .
Life
He was the son of Giovanni Batista Brentano-Cimaroli , who settled in Günzburg at the beginning of the 18th century . Carl Josef Maria Brentano-Cimaroli was married to Rosa Molo, who came from a wealthy Günzburg family. The sons Josef, Franz, Peter, Filipp and Johann, born in Günzburg, emerged from this marriage.
In 1746 Carl Josef Maria Brentano-Cimaroli founded a Lionic wire drawing factory on the Egelsee (reservoir of a side arm of the Günz ) for the production of gold, silver and copper wire for braids , tassels , draperies and uniforms. The factory was closed again in 1758 as trade was hampered by the Seven Years' War . In the same year, Carl Josef Maria Brentano-Cimaroli sold the representative city palace in Günzburg, which he had built in 1747. In 1764 he finally withdrew from Günzburg. Two of his sons worked as bankers in Genoa and Naples .
