Carl Kehr , also modernized Karl Kehr , (born April 6, 1830 in Goldbach , † January 18, 1885 in Erfurt ) was an elementary school teacher and educational writer.

Life

Carl Kehr was the son of a day laborer and attended the one-class village school in Elgersberg . His uncle Döbel sent him to the seminar in Gotha . He initially held various teaching posts and became seminar inspector in 1863 and seminar director in Gotha in 1871, from where he was appointed to head the seminar in Halberstadt in 1873 . In 1878 he received an honorary doctorate in philosophy from the University of Jena, was appointed school councilor in 1884, and at Easter 1884 Kehr took over the position of director of the seminar in Erfurt.

Sons were the important biliary surgeon Hans Kehr , the diplomat Paul Fridolin Kehr , the diplomat Karl Andreas Kehr and the educator Huldreich Kehr .
