Carl Ludwig von Let Berg (* 23. April 1709 , † 31 October 1785 in Hubertusburg ) was a German forester and 1763/77 first Saxon Oberland forester .

biography

Carl Ludwig von Lassberg was trained by the progressive state hunting and forestry chief Johann Georg von Langen in the Duchy of Braunschweig-Lüneburg . In the 17th and 18th centuries, cameramen and foresters recognized the importance of proper forest management and tried to convince the sovereigns , who often preferred hunting, of regulated silviculture.

In the course of the rétablissement , which emerged from 1760 , the administrator Prince Franz Xaver of Saxony summoned Lassberg to rebuild the forestry in Dresden in 1763 . Up to this time in Saxony had forester like hunting servants the Oberhof Jägermeister were under. Lassberg tried to set up his own institution until 1777. The problem was the poor level of forest training of its foresters, who had often only been trained as "deer-friendly hunters" but had little knowledge of silviculture. At the highest level, the Oberhofjägermeister von Wolffersdorff also intrigued against his competitor. Lassberg did not make it to the reigning Saxon Elector Friedrich August III since 1768 . to convince of his forest management. In 1777, Lassberg was subordinated to the new Oberhofjägermeister von Schirnding as regional forest master from Torgau , and the forest reform had failed. It was not until 1810/1811 that Heinrich Cotta was able to set up a Royal Saxon Forest Administration including a teaching institute.
