Carl Müller (architect)

Carl Müller , also Karl Müller (* 1898 in Offenbach am Main ; † after 1971 there ; full name: Carl Anton Müller ), was a German architect .

Life

Carl Müller was a master student of Dominikus Böhm , then office manager at Fritz Nathan in Frankfurt. In 1930 Müller founded an architecture office in Offenbach. After graduating, his son joined the office, which then operated under the name of Carl Müller und Sohn .

Carl and Wolfgang Müller went public together for the first time in 1947 with the developed and implemented design of the Catholic parish church St. Konrad in Offenbach-Tempelsee . The building has belonged to the All Saints Greek Orthodox Congregation since the 1970s.

Buildings and designs

  • 1920: Participation in the competition design by Dominikus Böhm for the commercial buildings and cellars of the Matheus Müller company in Eltville (not won, but the design was purchased by the sponsor)
  • 1926: Participation in the competition design by Dominikus Böhm for the parish church of St. Martin in Nuremberg (not won, but commendation)
  • 1930: Participation in the competition design by Fritz Nathan for the Pedagogical Academy Kassel (not won, but the design was purchased by the sponsor)
  • 1931–1940: Together with Fritz Bossert: Catholic Church Maria Hilfe der Christisten in Steinheim
  • 1933–1940: Together with Fritz Bossert: Marienkirche of St. Johann Baptist in Hanau, tower not completed until 1959
  • around 1940: Reconstruction of the Offenbach synagogue, which was destroyed by arson during the night of the pogrom, into a premiere cinema with 940 seats and a cinema organ (National Theater, today Capitol cultural center ; under monument protection)
  • 1953: St. Paul Catholic Church in Offenbach am Main, Kaiserstraße 60
  • 1954–1955: Catholic Church Maria Himmelskron in Heusenstamm
  • 1955: Increase in the Schmülling fashion store on the market square in Offenbach
  • 1956: Scala-Lichtspiele in Offenbach am Main

  • 1964–1965: Catholic Church of St. Bonifatius in Büdingen , (together with Wolfgang Müller; with the participation of Pastor Ewald Picard)
    • Hanging cross above the altar, made in enamel on copper over a wooden core by the Frankfurt goldsmith Albert Welker
