Carl Müller (* 27. June 1847 in Saalfeld / Saale , † 21st February 1929 in Berlin ) was a German mechanical engineering - engineering and Prussian construction officer, Mr .

Life

Carl Müller was born as the son of a judiciary in Saalfeld. He studied at the Technical University of Stuttgart . After completing his studies, he went into civil service with the Prussian State Railroad , initially with the railroad directorates in Bromberg and Berlin . In Berlin he became a member of the management on June 1, 1874. In 1895, as part of a reorganization of the Prussian State Railways, he was appointed lecturer in the Prussian Ministry of Public Works .

In terms of content, Müller was primarily concerned with locomotive construction. The extensive introduction of the superheated steam locomotive and the feed water preheating are among his services.

Müller was a founding member and from 1922 an honorary member of the German Machine Technology Society .

On July 28, 1917, Müller retired. He died at the age of 81 in Berlin-Wilmersdorf .

Honors

Müller received numerous medals, both from Prussia and from other states. On April 21, 1908, he was awarded the rank of First Class Council. The Technical University of Charlottenburg awarded him an honorary doctorate .
