Carl Townsend Osburn (born November 5, 1884 in Jacksontown , Ohio , † December 28, 1966 in St. Helena , California ) was one of the most successful American shooters . The officer in the US armed forces took part in the Olympic Games in Stockholm (1912), Antwerp (1920) and Paris (1924).

Sporting successes

In total, Osburn won five gold , four silver and two bronze medals at the Olympic Games (a total of eleven medals). This makes him 28th in the all-time best list of the Olympic Games and the fifth most successful athlete from the USA. He also won eight world championships with the team.
