Carl Oskar Renner (born June 21, 1908 in Eichwald , Austria-Hungary , † January 27, 1998 in Munich ) was a Bavarian writer who became known through the novel about the Müllner-Peter von Sachrang .

Life

Carl Oskar Renner studied philosophy in Leuven , Innsbruck and Prague from 1927 to 1937 . After the war he worked as a teacher in Munich. At that time, Renner discovered an article: The Müllner-Peter von Sachrang. A universal genius from the Priental. By August Sieghardt, Grassau im Chiemgau . In addition to his writing activities, Carl Oskar Renner was the author of numerous radio programs. Among other things, he received the Federal Cross of Merit, First Class. In 1983 he was awarded the Bavarian Poet Thaler by the Munich tower writers .

Homage

Carl Oskar Renner has written several plays for the historical theater Buchenberg . The Allgäu amateur theater group repeated the play The Roman Road on its 100th birthday and a picture exhibition took place in the local history museum.
