Carl Proebst

Carl Proebst (born November 22, 1853 in Augsburg , † 1939 ) was a German manager in the brewing industry.

Life

Carl Proebst attended the humanistic grammar school in Munich. He then studied at the Weihenstephan Academy . In 1870 he became a member of the Corps Alemannia Munich . In 1887 he became deputy director of Jos. Sedlmayr Franziskanerkeller-Leistbräu AG . In 1922 he became a board member of the merger created Gabriel and Jos. Sedlmayr, Spaten-Franziskaner-Leistbräu AG . In 1929 he moved from the executive board to the supervisory board.

For many years Proebst belonged to the board of directors of the Munich brewery association and as its chairman of the local association of the breweries of Munich and the surrounding area. Until October 1929 he was chairman of the advisory board of the Foreign Office for Foreign Trade, Munich branch. He was a member of the large committee of the German Brewers Association. V. and delegate of the brewery and malting trade association. Even after retiring from operational business in 1929, he remained a member of the presidency and chairman of the state association of the Hansa Federation for trade, commerce and industry and a member of the supervisory board of Schwabinger Brauerei AG and Tierpark Hellabrunn AG in Munich.
