Carl Wilhelm Althaus

Carl Wilhelm Althaus (born December 31, 1822 in Marburg an der Lahn , † December 28, 1907 in Kassel ) was a German administrative officer and parliamentarian.

Life

Carl Wilhelm Althaus studied law at the Philipps University of Marburg and the Georg August University of Göttingen . In 1842 he became a member of the Corps Teutonia Marburg . In 1843 he joined the Corps Guestphalia Göttingen . After completing his studies, he entered the civil service of the Electorate of Hesse and became a Prussian administrative officer after it was annexed by Prussia. In 1882 he was a member of the government in Kassel , where he remained until his retirement.

From 1882 to 1893 Althaus sat for the constituency of Kassel 4 (Kassel, Witzenhausen) as a member of the conservative parliamentary group for three legislative periods in the Prussian House of Representatives .
