Carl von Hohnhorst

Carl Adolph Heinrich von Hohnhorst (born September 26, 1809 in Braunschweig , † September 30, 1858 ibid) was a German administrative lawyer.

origin

His parents were Burghard Georg Karl von Hohnhorst (* June 12, 1769; † February 21, 1833) and his wife Charlotte von Veltheim (* October 23, 1776; † April 14, 1852).

Life

Carl von Hohnhorst studied at the Georg August University in Göttingen and the Ruprecht Karls University in Heidelberg . In 1828 he became a member of the Corps Brunsviga Göttingen . In 1829 he joined the Corps Guestphalia Heidelberg . After graduating, he entered the civil service of the Duchy of Braunschweig . From 1844 to 1850 he was district director of the Helmstedt district . In 1850 he moved to the Braunschweig Police Department. From 1851 to 1857 he was district director of the Braunschweig district .

family

He married Adolfine Hermine Friederike von Löhneysen on September 22, 1839 in Braunschweig (* September 10, 1815, † February 4, 1890). The couple had two children:

  • Otto Rudolf Bruno (born February 3, 1853 - † March 29, 1883), emigrated to South Africa
