Carlina tragacanthifolia is a plant from the genus Eberwurzen ( carlina ) in the family of Compositae (Asteraceae).
features
Carlina tragacanthifolia is a white tomentose, perennial dwarf shrub that reaches heights of 15 to 20 centimeters. The cushion plant has sparse branches and a richly branched rhizome. The spring leaves are soft, lanceolate, entire or slightly pinnate and thornless. The other leaves are narrowly linear, about 50 millimeters long and runny. They have an end pin and four to six 12 to 15 millimeter long side pins. The cups have a diameter of 8 to 20 millimeters. The outer bracts are leaf-like and 20 to 50 millimeters in size. The inner bracts are about 10 millimeters in size. The flowers are light yellow.
The flowering time is in July.
The number of chromosomes is 2n = 20.
Occurrence
Carlina tragacanthifolia occurs in the area of the southeast Aegean . Overall, it occurs in Greece, the Aegean Sea, Crete and Turkey. The species grows in Phrygana and on coastal rocks.
