Carlo Allioni
Carlo Ludovico Allioni (born September 23, 1728 in Turin ; † July 30, 1804 there ) was an Italian doctor , zoologist , paleontologist and botanist . Its official botanical author's abbreviation is “ All. ".
Live and act
Allioni taught since 1760 as a professor of botany at the University of Turin and directed the Turin Botanical Garden . In 1757 he was elected a corresponding member of the Göttingen Academy of Sciences . On April 6, 1758, Allioni was inducted into the Royal Society .
Fonts (selection)
His most important work was Flora Pedemontana, sive enumeratio methodica stirpium indigenarum Pedemontii , a study of the flora in Piedmont , in which he lists 2813 plant species, including 237 previously unknown. In 1766 he published the Manipulus Insectorum Tauriniensium . Here is a selection from the factory:

Honors
Allioni was a member of numerous academies and learned societies.
The Swedish botanist Carl von Linné named the plant genus Allionia from the family of the miraculous flower plants (Nyctaginaceae) in his honor. The American botanist Per Axel Rydberg , who comes from Sweden, named the genus Allioniella (today assigned to the genus Mirabilis ), also from the miracle flower family, in his honor. Furthermore, the following four individual species are named after him:
