from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Carlo Jeannerat (born June 25, 1875 in Bologna , † after 1957) was an Italian miniature painter .

He studied in Bologna and Vienna and worked in Munich, Berlin and Paris both as a painter of miniature portraits and as an art historian and expert on miniatures, and published on the history of this genre. He also helped put together exhibitions, for example the miniature exhibition in May 1912 in Munich, which, thanks to its new concept of composing images, enabled a different perspective on the development of miniature painting.

In the “Spring Exhibition of the Munich Secession ” in May 1906, a portrait of him, painted by Adolfo Levier , was on view.
