Carlo Sbordone (born November 23, 1948 in Naples ) is an Italian mathematician who deals with analysis . He is a professor at the University of Naples .

Sbordone studied in Naples with the Laurea degree in 1970 and became professor of analysis there.

Among other things, he was visiting professor at the University of Paris VI and the University of Maryland .

He deals with the calculus of variations, gamma convergence, geometric dimension theory, homogenization and quasi-conformal mapping.

In 2000 he received the Mathematics Prize of the Accademia dei XL . From 2000 to 2006 he was President of the Unione Matematica Italiana . He is a corresponding member of the Accademia dei Lincei (2004) and a member of the Accademia Pontaniana in Naples.
