Carlos Armando Lara (born July 27, 1934 in Argentina ), also known by the nickname "El Charro ", is a former Argentine- Mexican soccer player in the position of striker who, after his active career, worked as a soccer coach for various Mexican clubs .

As far as can be ascertained, Lara began his professional career in Mexico with CD Zacatepec , for which he played between 1956 and 1966 over a period of ten years. In the first three years at Zacatepec he won four titles and was also top scorer three times in the Primera División until his club was relegated to the Segunda División at the end of the 1961/62 season . He remained connected to the club in the second division season 1962/63 and managed to get up again with Zacatepec. After relegated again at the end of the 1965/66 season, Lara moved to Deportivo Toluca FC for one season (1966/67) before ending his active career in the two following seasons with Necaxa .

National team

His career in the Mexican national team was limited to a period of only five months, during which he played between October 29, 1961 (1-0 against Paraguay in a World Cup qualifier ) and April 1, 1962 (1-0 against Colombia in a friendly match) completed a total of four international matches. But he was not part of the Mexican World Cup squad in 1962 .
