Carlos Noriega

Carlos Noriega , full name Carlos Francisco Noriega Pons , (born June 19, 1922 in the Río Negro Department , † September 1991 in Puerto Rico ) was a Uruguayan diver and swimmer .

Noriega initially worked as a high diver and became South American champion in this discipline in 1941. He was also a member of the Uruguayan squad at the 1948 Summer Olympics in London . At the games in England he started on the 100-meter back course . There, however, he was eliminated in fourth place in his preliminary run with a swim time of 1: 15.0 minutes in the first lap.
