Carol Mendelsohn (* 1951 in Chicago , Illinois , USA ) is an American screenwriter and producer . She is best known for her work on CSI: Tracking Down the Criminals and CSI: Miami .

Life

Mendelsohn grew up in Chicago . She first went to Smith College , but later switched and graduated from Cornell University . Then she went to George Washington University and studied in Washington, DC with the law firms Wyman, Bautzer, Rothman & Kuchel.

Mendelsohn didn't want to become a lawyer and enrolled at the American Film Institute . She went to Los Angeles and started writing for the film industry. She worked for Hardcastle & McCormick , Stingray and Wiseguy . She worked as a producer for Canell Studios on The Cases of Rosie O'Neill and Melrose Place .

In 2000 she took over the production of the pilot film from CSI: On the trail of the perpetrators and now works as a show runner and executive producer .
