Caroline Elias

Caroline Elias (* 1965 in Marburg ) is a Franco-German journalist , film producer and interpreter .

Life

Caroline Elias studied literature and political science at the Sorbonne in Paris and at the Institut d'études politiques de Paris . Internship at Sender Freie Berlin , France Culture and Cahiers du cinéma . Guest student at the Humboldt University in Berlin, intercultural specialist communication. Since then she has been working as a freelance television editor and journalist a. a. for ORB , ARTE , Radio Canada (TV). Occasionally she publishes glosses on Franco-German everyday life, e. B. in La Gazette de Berlin .

From 2000–2007, Elias represented the working group Dokumentarfilm / german documentaries on international AV markets as Marketing Manager . She is a regular lecturer for the film industry and film culture in France a. a. at the Potsdam University of Film and Television , at the Potsdam course in European media studies and at the Humboldt University in Berlin .

As a founding member of the Franco-German Film Academy, she advises politicians and educational planners in both countries on issues relating to the media industry, e. B. in the amendment of the German Film Funding Act (2004), the Franco-German coproduction agreement (2001) and the organization of the master class for young European film producers (2000), also program advisor for festivals such as the French Film Days Tübingen (2003, '05, '06 ) and the Djerba International TV Festival (Tunisia, 2006), as well as guest lecturer and lectures in Germany and the USA.

Elias has worked at the Berlinale since 1997 (today as an interpreter).
