Caroline Loeb (born October 5, 1955 in Neuilly-sur-Seine ) is a French chanson singer , actress , theater director and author .

Life

Caroline Loeb spent part of her childhood in the USA, where her father Albert Loeb (* 1932) owned a gallery in New York City from 1958 to 1971 . In 1966 he opened a gallery in Paris that still exists today. She is the granddaughter of the gallery owner Pierre Loeb (1897–1964) and the great niece of the photographer Denise Colomb (1902–2004), her brother is the actor Martin Loeb (* 1959).

In the 1970s, she began her acting career in some of Jean Eustache's films , including My Little Lovers (1974), where her brother starred. In addition to other films, she also appeared on the theater stage. With her second single C'est la ouate (English title And So What ), which in 1986 was No. 1 in the singles charts in Italy, No. 3 in Spain, No. 5 in France, No. 10 in Germany and No. 30, she became internationally known. Her numerous directorial work includes a production of the vagina monologues by Eve Ensler at the Théâtre Michel in Paris (2007). Caroline Loeb, who was also a radio presenter for a time, published her first novel Has Been in 2006 .
