Hans-Joachim Hertwig

Hans-Joachim Hertwig (born July 16, 1928 in Schmiedeberg , Riesengebirge , † September 28, 1988 ) was a German teacher , youth functionary and politician ( SED ).

Life

Hertwig, the son of a carpenter , did an apprenticeship at the Volksbank in Hirschberg after attending primary school from 1942 to 1944 . Still 1944/1945 as Luftwaffenhelfer used and army fed, he was briefly Soviet captivity .

In 1945 Hertwig became a member of the SPD , in 1946 a member of the SED. In the same year he also joined the FDJ . From 1945 to 1950 he taught as a new teacher at the elementary school in Leegebruch , then from 1950 to 1952 he was headmaster of the Schönwalde elementary school and finally from 1952 to 1955 director of the elementary school in the pioneering republic of "Wilhelm Pieck" on the Werbellinsee . From 1955 he studied at the party college "Karl Marx" . In 1958 Hertwig completed his studies with a degree in social science and then headed the central school of the pioneering organization "Ernst Thälmann" in Droyßig until 1960 . From 1960 to 1966 he was secretary and deputy chairman of the central management of the pioneer organization and from 1963 to 1967 he was also a member of the central council of the FDJ, in the latter also secretary for science, popular education and culture (1966–1968).

From 1954 to 1988 Hertwig was a member of the Central Committee of the SED . From 1968 to 1971 he was first second secretary, then from 1971 to 1988 - as successor to Erich Mückenberger - first secretary of the SED district leadership in Frankfurt an der Oder .

From 1971 until his death he was a member of the People's Chamber . From 1976 to 1988 he was a member of the editorial board of the SED magazine Einheit .
