Caroline Stam is a Dutch singer of the vocal range soprano .

Caroline Stam received her musical training at the Amsterdam Sweelinck Conservatory with Erna Spoorenberg and Margreet Honig . After graduating, she became a master class student of Elly Ameling and a student of David Pittman-Jennings, among others .

She has given concerts in Germany, France, Spain and Great Britain, among others under the direction of Iván Fischer , David Willcocks and Ton Koopman . She performed at festivals such as La Folle Journée in Nantes and the Bremen Bach Festival. In 1995 she won first prizes for soprano and for the interpretation of French songs at the “Grimsby International Singing Competition”.

Her repertoire of operatic roles includes Pamina in Mozart's Magic Flute , Clarijn in “Mirror of Venice” by Hendrik Andriessen , Ninfa in L'Orfeo by Claudio Monteverdi, Belinda in Dido and Aeneas by Henry Purcell, Dorinda in Orlando by Georg Friedrich Handel and Hélène in “Une éducation manquée” by Emmanuel Chabrier .

Caroline Stam has been a member of the Amsterdam Baroque Choir since it was founded in 1992 . She also took part as a soloist in the recordings of the “Amsterdam Baroque Orchestra & Choir” of the cantatas by Johann Sebastian Bach , directed by Ton Koopman , as well as in the complete recording of the works by Dieterich Buxtehude .
